Now on to Gwen. This is what poor Gwen looked like when we picked her up. She was quite sad.
She had been neglected quite a bit, and lost her former glory. We were in love with her pedestal base and gorgeous chairs. So we hopped to prettying her up! Take a look at her now in our booth at Southern Marketplace.
We painted her table top Annie Sloan French Linen, and her base, apron and chairs Duckegg Blue. Such a great combination. Reminds me of the beach a bit, very tranquil.
Have I mentioned I hate painting spindles? Like truly hate it? What a pain, but so worth it. I love the carved detail on the chairs.
She really is gorgeous now. We are thrilled with how she turned out. And take a look at the sign we had made for our booth by a local artist.
In love! I need to figure out what I want for our home. I really adore the look of these reclaimed pallet wood signs, and have the perfect spot in my great room for a nice big one. If you have any suggestions as to what saying we should use, leave a comment. And if you are interested in a sign of your own, I'll give you the gal's information. She is a joy to work with!
Off to paint more pieces…wait till you see what we are working on now.
